When you were a child, you were probably told that you were a unique snowflake, am i right? Of course I am! Everyone get's told this and no one puts any thought into it because it basically sounds like a totally righteous philosophy. But the "humans are snowflakes" idea is actually a lot more terrifying than it seems. "What do you mean, everyone is different, but beautiful! There's nothing scary about that." Sure, but have you ever really thought about snowflakes? They are all composed out of the exact same thing, and that's little droplets of water. Humans are also all made out of pretty much the exact same stuff.
Okay, ready for your mind to get blown?
Snowflakes all do the same thing, they fall down. They also only fall where the wind pushes them, no where else. They're kinda like sheep, getting pushed around by shepherds and their dogs! Now, imagine sheep falling from the sky. Do you know how much sheep weigh? About the same as a human! You know how what the terminal velocity for a human is? 125 mph! Now imagine a 185 pound snowflake travelling down at your house or car (or body for that matter) at 125 miles per hour! That's the stuff of nightmares! A snow day wouldn't be every kids fantasy, but the reason that kids wear solid steel blankets in the winter!
That wasn't my actual point (that was pretty stupid, to be honest). My point is is that what the snowflake analogy is really saying is "Everyone is made of the same stuff and does the same things, but we all look different!" And that terrifies me. Don't be a part of the crowd unless you enjoy it. If you want to do something different, do it! Don't let the wind push into something that you don't want to do! Don't be a snowflake! BE A LION! NO ONE TELLS A LION WHAT TO DO! LIONS DO WHAT THEY WANT, WHEN THEY WANT AND THERE IS
